More on overcoming FEAR

In Revelation 21;8 God mentions a number of classes of people who will be immersed in the lake of burning fire and brimstone. The “Fearful” are those who fear the disapproval and the threat of humans more than the the truth of the Word of God. In other words those that succumb to the lies of this world rather than the Word itself.Their own ego needs of image and status is more important than their faithfulness to God. (see Mark8;35, 1 Thes 2;4 and 2 Tim 2;12-13) These references talk about those who have compromised and are lukewarm. The second category are those former believers who have been overwhelmed by their sin. To initially profess Christ and then allow sin to overcome is seen as an abominable sin.

W e see in the lifestyle of many today and I include some churches who accept that life is difficult and therefore to be a proclaiming child of God and to also be ionvolved in areas of sin as an immoral person is acceptable. We try to accommodate our present lifestyle to the degree where we compromise on the Word as though we had the authority to change it to be more suitable for our lifestyle.

When our Governments change laws to accommodate our sin it is as though they have “authorised ” our change in belief as well. As when the abortion laws were changed and the Gay marriages became acceptable. These remain an abomination before the Lord.

God states clearly (1 Cor 6;9-10, Eph 5;5-7, Gal 5;19-21) that his word is sovereign and such practices are abominable while those too fearful to resist are grouped with the sinners.

1Co 6:9 Do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators nor idolaters nor adulterers nor boy prostitutes nor practicing homosexuals
1Co 6:10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Eph 5:5 Be sure of this, that no immoral or impure or greedy person, that is, an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Eph 5:6 Let no one deceive you with empty arguments, for because of these things the wrath of God is coming upon the disobedient.
Eph 5:7 So do not be associated with them.

Therefore do not be fearful as He will always be with you.

I want to add one other thing. This does not mean that you must aggressively attack those spoken of, but instead and in love, attempt to convince them of the love of God for them who weeps at the sin and desires them to be included in His love.
