changing your life in 30 days- when hopes are dashed

17 07 2007

When we speak of “hope” in a biblical sense it is different to that as you would commonly know. When we say, “I hope it will all be ok” OR “I hope my increase is sufficient”. It is more a desire and wish that is being expressed. The wishful thinking expression as just mentioned is vastly different from the assurance of hope as mentioned in biblical scripture. God is God and His purposes will never be thwarted. It is not a wishful thing but a certainty.

Heb 6:18 so that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge might be strongly encouraged to hold fast to the hope that lies before us.
Heb 6:19 This we have as an anchor of the soul, sure and firm, which reaches into the interior behind the veil,

We often get the picture of God on His throne as He has shown David, Isaiah and Ezekiel. This is to ensure we have a picture of His continuous and steadfast care over us. This hope is more than just a desire but by Royal assurance of His Kingdom He will be with us as His promises over the centuries have assured us.

Deu 7:9 Understand, then, that the LORD, your God, is God indeed, the faithful God who keeps his merciful covenant down to the thousandth generation toward those who love him and keep his commandments,

Consistent, and sure is His hopye!
