If you are a Christian can you name the times you have heard of revival and the start of something “new”! Have you ever attended one of those massive rallies? I recall my daughter travelling to Washington DC to attend an enormous gathering of Christians. Then there was the million man march and numerous other such gatherings.
OK! Where am I going with all this?
Have you ever wondered why it does not come about and what causes these admirable efforts to just fizzle out? Marketing experts will tel you about getting the message across and winning the hearts and souls and of packaging the message for the target. It has nothing to do with any of this. Instead it has to do with the availability of hearts and desire to be pure and holy.
I cannot see Jesus wanting to use me if I am in continual sin! We as a nation are in continual sin as we accommodate abortion, prostitution, gay marriages and all the other politically correct things we do. Those are mass areas but there are also minor areas of sin on a more personal level. Areas of unforgiveness and pride! As you read this just think of your latest fall into sin…yes that is what is meant. Be it into pornography on the Internet or simply holding and nurturing that grudge you may have over someone and in fact feel so justified in having that grudge because, of course, you were right!
While we as a nation continue, and as a people in His name continue with cherishing our sins, we will never see a movement of any sort. But… I believe that as soon as we start to go before His throne and beg His mercy and activate …ACTIVATE our heart to join with His then amazing things will start to happen and as they do and we recognise this faith starts to erupt and larger things just HAPPEN increasing the faith and inspiring others, while calling them out to a holy and pure walk, becoming accountable to one another which brings about humility as you submit to your friend and the chastising and love flowing from a relationship based on Him. You will fall but your partner will pick you up and that is where the coil of many strands cannot be broken as one snaps the other are there to hold until it can be repaired.
The key is to believe and activate that belief. There is a mixture of faith and works as one ignites the other and the experience strengthens the other. We tend to go to these gatherings and become inspire, wanting to move mountains and convert the world. You know, that is great but there is more to this. The very start of it all is getting into fellowship with fellow believers and setting up groups of friends who you can talk to and who would stand by you in a fight. That is what it is, a fight! You cannot win the adversary by yourself but with the love and support of friends and of Him who has overcome you can do it. I believe that when this dynamic is started then you can go to the corners of the earth and share your love with all and they will see in your life that it is true.
So, dear friend, find someone who cares and drag them into your life, authorising them to speak of His truths into your very being and humbly submit all remarks to Him. Talk about becoming intimate in House churches or simple church or organic church …whatever you want to call small intimate groups igniting one another with His love. Explore opportunities where you can activate that belief by simply loving on someone who is unable to repay you in any way for what you do. Be selfishly lavish with your praise of one another. Search out that one who you hold a grudge against and bless him/her against your desire and experience the release which comes from love. Start a one man revolution for His name and when enough one man revolutions come together …it will be a movement! A revolution of love!
